Rumor Has It: Apple Says “No” to Mobile Intel Core i5 and i7 Chips
Apple uses the desktop version of Intel’s Core i5 and Core i7 processors in its current iMac lineup, and despite some DOA machines and some odd display problems being reported, people seem generally pleased with the results. It makes sense then that Apple would be interested in using the mobile version of those processors, codenamed “Arrandale,” in upcoming versions of its notebooks. Big Gains Predicted for Apple Market Share in 2010
Investors should be seriously looking at putting more money into Apple stock, says one industry analyst. Robert Cihra of Caris & Company is predicting that Mac market share will grow by 26 percent in 2010, compared to only a 16 percent expansion in the general computing industry. Cihra predicts in a new research report (PDF download, requires registration) that Apple will have a 4 percent overall market share in the year 2010, which is actually around what it has now, according to numbers released in September. Rumor Has It: iTunes LP Authoring and Submission Coming to iDVD
When Apple revealed its documents and templates detailing the process of creating iTunes LP and Extras for small studios and indie artists to take advantage of, it also noted that for the time being, submission would be manual, but that automated electronic submission was on its way. A new report suggests the vehicle of delivery for that submission could be none other than Apple’s own iDVD media authoring program, part of the iLife suite.
